The Closest World Heritage Site to the Expo Site

Sakai City is home to the Mozu-Furuichi Kofun Group, the closest World Heritage site to the Expo site. The burial mounds were constructed approximately 1,600 years ago, between the late 4th and 5th centuries. 23 of the existing burial mounds in Sakai are registered as World Heritage sites.

Among them, the tomb of Emperor Nintoku is 486 meters long and is one of the world's three largest tombs, along with the Pyramid of King Khufu and the Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor, both of which are also World Heritage sites.
